Patricia Dorn, Ph.D., was selected to have her manuscript about Chagas disease published in the March 2009 issue of the Public Library of Science’s Journal for Neglected Tropical Diseases.

Ryan B. Harvey, '00, is a Hardy-Apfel IT Fellow and doctoral studies student at the University of Maryland, College Park, Md.

Glenn Hymel, Ed.D, L.M.T., has recently published two textbooks, “Research Methods for Massage and Holistic Therapies” and “Clinical Massage in the Healthcare Setting,” published by Elsevier/Mosby Publishing.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award recognizes outstanding students who participate in community service projects and who exemplify the principles, standards and ideology of King.

Dr. Roger White, vice provost and associate professor, was part of a lecture and panel discussion held at Loyola University in February 2009 on Balkan Art and Politics on Both Sides of the Serbian/Kosovo Border.

Sarah Anne Hedges is a Peace Corps trainee in Mozambique and will work on the Health & HIV/AIDS Capacity Building Project.

Jonathan Kurtz and Nick de la Rua presented results of their research on Chagas disease at the 57th annual meeting of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

Governer Bobby Jindal appointed political science major David Zoller to the Louisiana Governor's Advisory Board of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Zoller will serve as a youth worker for the governor's advisory board.
