Marianna Sandomirsky, M.D. is a board certified forensic pathologist who is a deputy coroner for Jefferson Parish, Harvey, LA. She also functions as a part-time medical examiner for several major counties around metropolitan St. Louis area. Her past appointment includes University of Missouri in Columbia, MO where she covered several large mid-Missouri counties as a deputy medical examiner. Prior to joining the University of Missouri, she completed forensic pathology fellowship, anatomic and clinical pathology residency at St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. In addition to forensic pathology, American Board of Pathology has certified her in anatomic and clinical pathology.

Dr. Sandomirsky is involved in several leading national and local organizations. She has served on NAME (National Association of Medical Examiners) Bioterrorism and Infectious Disease committee and Education, Program and Publications Committee, and Forensic Pathology Resource Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Currently, she is part of the NAME Ad hoc-Government Affairs committee. Dr. Sandomirsky is part of the CAP Spokesperson network following completed rigorous training in communications.

She has been published in peer reviewed journals and is currently on the editorial board of the official journal of NAME, Academic Forensic Pathology. Her research interests are in quality improvement, child deaths, suicides and the impact of economy. Dr. Sandomirsky enjoys and is passionate about teaching pathology to wide audiences. Outside of professional commitments, she enjoys travel, charity work with animals, tennis, cycling, and reading on the NOOK (not in any particular order).
