Arnaldo Vargas-Silva

Dr. Vargas obtained his undergraduate degree in science from the University of Puerto Rico and his Ph.D. from Indiana University. His research interests include facilitating the systematic test of Lorentz and CPT symmetry.  Looking for deviations of these symmetries have been proposed as a method to obtain experimental data that could lead to a better understanding of gravity at the quantum scale.  Lorentz symmetry is the symmetry that says that the experimental results are independent of the orientation and velocity of the experiment. CPT symmetry is the symmetry that relates the behavior of particles and antiparticles. In his publications, Arnaldo has considered the feasibility of testing CPT and Lorentz symmetry in atomic and molecular spectroscopy experiments.
