Accreditation

The School of Mass Communication is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC). ACEJMC is the agency responsible for the evaluation of professional journalism and mass communications programs in colleges and universities. The school also holds a Certification in Education for Public Relations (CEPR) by the the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).  CEPR is a program of quality-assurance for studies in public relations in colleges and universities worldwide.

Retention methodology is based upon continuous enrollment.  Communications retention is based upon returning in the major where the overall cohort is returning to the university. Students graduating before their senior year are subtracted from the denominator when calculating the retention percentage.
